Georgian Saga

The Georgian Saga is by far my favorite Plaidy series! It begins with THE PRINCESS OF CELLE, which goes into detail on how the House of Hanover began, with the marriage of the beautiful Sophia Dorothea of Celle and the hated George I, who cruelly locked her in a castle until the end of her days. The series goes through all of the King Georges’ and their wives and mistresses, and ends with VICTORIA IN THE WINGS, the story of how Queen Victoria inherited the throne.

From the 1978 Robert Hale HC edition of The Regent’s Daughter:
