In reality though, we may in fact recognize these figures as having played a very significant role in history. Perhaps it’s Plaidy’s way of enticing us to learn more about these women; since, in fact, most of them make a comeback as main characters in her subsequent novels. This section is dedicated to these ’incidental’ ladies, focusing on bits and pieces of their life and history.
