Ever notice how most Plaidy novels include snippets or brief sections on other important women of history? Plaidy incorporates them with just enough information to keep the story going but not enough to make them take center stage. Sometimes only a few lines or paragraphs are dedicated to these ladies.

Plaidy’s ‘incidental’ characters only appear in specific parts of the novel to help clarify or bring the story together. In reality though, we may in fact recognize these figures as having played a very significant role in history. Perhaps it’s Plaidy’s way of enticing us to learn more about these women; since, in fact, most of them make a comeback as main characters in her subsequent novels.

This section is dedicated to these ’incidental’ ladies, focusing on bits and pieces of their life and history. Articles will contain historical information, interesting facts and different aspects pertaining to the historical lady in question. We hope these posts will entertain, inform, as well as, invite you to comment and discuss along with us.
